Law Adviser Asif Nazrul today reaffirmed that the current administration will leave office in February, following the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

"Election will be held in February, and in February we will leave," he told reporters at the Secretariat today,

He added that the responsibility for holding the election rests with the government, not with any political party, and that the administration is committed to the timeframe announced by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.

"According to the chief adviser's announcement, we are determined to hold the election in February. Our Sir (Prof Yunus) is a globally recognised personality, and there is no scope for us to step back from his declaration," he added.

On the ongoing discussions about election timing, he said, "In our country, the traditional conversations that used to take place about politics are still happening in the same way. There hasn't been much qualitative change in these discussions. Whoever says whatever about the timing of the election, it is part of the political process."
